Who doesn’t want the best for their child? You may think that you cannot afford a private school education. Those who find a way to send their children to University High School believe that the benefits far outweigh the personal sacrifices they make.

I think the most important part of my years at University was when I found out who I really am. I'm not sure what day this all happened or when I really made the official change but somehow I did. I know that I will get things done, and I came to the realization that one day I will be someone special.

I found University High School to be a fantastic place for me, both for self-discovery and for hard work. It was a great environment that prepared me for the rest of my life.

A partnership between National Association of Independent Schools and the Higher Education Research Institute surveyed recent graduates of independent schools and compared them to their peers. The research found that:
  • Independent school graduates were three times more likely than the group as a whole to spend more than 11 hours per week studying or doing homework during their last year of high school.
  • More than 75 percent of NAIS school graduates graduated from a college or university by their mid-20s.
  • Independent school graduates are committed to achievement. They have high educational aspirations and work hard to achieve their goals.
  • Independent school graduates are comfortable working closely with teachers and are more engaged in class.
  • Independent school graduates are engaged in civic life. They are far more likely to vote in elections and volunteer in their communities.
  • Independent school graduates pursue active and educational leisure-time activities.

(Written to a University teacher) We wanted to thank you and University High School for pushing our son to work hard in all of his classes. If it had not been for you and the rest of the faculty, he would not have been ready for college. His receiving a high score on the math placement test is a testament to your teaching skill in making sure that he knew and understood the concepts. The world would be a much better place if we had more teachers such as you, who care for their students and go the extra mile.
