Entrance Exam

The Independent School Entrance Examination is a three-hour admission test. It consists of five parts:

  • Verbal reasoning
  • Quantitative reasoning
  • Reading comprehension
  • Mathematics achievement
  • Prompted essay

You can register for the ISEE by mail, by telephone, by fax or over the internet. The school code for University High School is 154010. Testing dates, testing locations and sample questions are available online at www.iseetest.org .

Saturday test dates are available on a monthly basis by appointment only. The test can be taken at University High School on

Sunday testing is available by request. Please contact Director of Admission, Nancy Webster to arrange a Sunday test day. On the test day, students should arrive at 8:00 a.m. and parents should pick them up at 11:30 a.m. Please contact Christine Lindner (317-733-4475 x421) for more information on test dates.

The entrance examination takes place in Richard M. Fairbanks Hall on campus.

The test is given throughout the year at additional testing sites in the metropolitan Indianapolis area.
