The 2017 University High School Commencement Ceremony will be held at The Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts (One Center Green, Carmel, IN 46032) on Saturday, June 3 at 1 p.m. Doors open to the public at 12:30 p.m.

All are welcome to attend, and there will be complimentary valet parking (gratuities not included) available for all guests. This is not a ticketed event. The ceremony will last approximately two hours, and there will be a dessert reception hosted by the UHS Parent Association following the ceremony.

Information for graduates and their families: There will be a professional photographer at this year’s graduation. Details will be available at commencement for parents interested in purchasing photos from the ceremony. Guests may also take photos and videos of the event.

Attire for graduates: This is a dressy occasion. Graduates are required to be dressed up and ready for this formal event. Specifically, boys are asked to wear formal clothing: collared shirt and tie, suit or blazer and dress slacks, dress shoes (no sandals, please) and socks. Girls are asked to wear dresses, skirts or dressy pants, dress shoes or very dressy sandals (no flip flops, please.) The commencement ceremony takes place on the raised stage at The Palladium. Very short skirts are to be avoided. If there are questions regarding attire, please talk with Nancy Webster. Students who are not dressed appropriately for graduation will not be able to participate in the commencement exercises.

Graduates will all be given a white rose with a navy ribbon at commencement. At a class meeting in April, each individual graduate was asked to choose from a long-stemmed white rose, a wrist corsage, and a boutonniere. Each graduate will receive the option he/she selected.

Though the ceremony will start at 1 p.m., we need all graduating seniors to be at the Palladium no later than 12 p.m. (noon). Graduates will take a professional class photo at noon.

Doors will open to all guests at 12:30 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. With questions about the graduation ceremony, please contact Nancy Webster at or 317-733-4475, ext. 102.
