Cash or Check

Most gifts are in the form of cash or check. Make checks payable to University High School and mail them to:

University High School
2825 W. 116th Street
Carmel, IN 46032

Please provide your name and class year or parent year on your check; this is important as we need to have the correct name and address information for gift acknowledgment.

Credit Card

University High School accepts credit card gifts over the phone, through the mail, in person, and online. Credit cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. To make a credit card gift online, visit www.universityhighschool.org/give.

Stocks or Other Securities

Gifts of stock or appreciated securities can have a large tax benefit. You may take a federal income tax charitable deduction if you itemize your return. For appreciated securities held longer than one year, you can deduct the full fair market value of the gift and pay no taxes on any capital gain.

To make a gift of securities electronically, you need University High School’s DTC number. Download instructions for making gifts of securities and/or contact Adrianne Glidewell Smith, director of annual fund and alumni relations, at aglidewell@universityhighschool.org or at 317-733-4475, ext. 133 for help.

It is important to advise the school of a stock transfer so we can properly recognize the gift when the proceeds are received.

Pledge

If you would like to make a pledge to the U Fund, you may call, or download a pledge commitment form and send to the office of advancement. We record your pledge upon receipt and you will receive an acknowledgment from the school. All pledges must be paid by June 30 of the fiscal year.

Memorials and Honors

Each year, University High School receives many gifts in memory of or in honor of friends, classmates, teachers, parents, etc. When the school receives these gifts, the development office notifies the family member(s) of the deceased (in the case of memorial gifts) or the honoree (in the case of “in honor of” gifts).

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many corporations match gifts made by employees and their families to charitable institutions. Many match on a dollar-per-dollar basis, which can double or triple your gift. Please contact your company’s human resources office to obtain the proper matching gift forms.

Restricted and Unrestricted Gifts

You may designate gifts for a specific purpose or give an unrestricted gift. Unrestricted gifts allow the school to allocate resources according to changing needs.
