Community Meetings and Assemblies

When you join University High School, you join a community - a community of learners and a community of individuals dedicated to a shared vision and shared values.

Every day, the students, faculty and staff come together for community meeting, which is an integral part of the culture at University High School. For fifteen minutes we recognize achievements, share creative endeavors, announce the news of the day, conduct team-building exercises, plan future events, perform for one another, listen to one another and grow as a community.

On Fridays, community meeting becomes a nearly hour-long assembly at which we typically invite guests to speak. Past speakers have included U.S. Senator Richard Lugar, a three-time Emmy winner, and the national tour of Invisible Children.

We think you will be impressed by the closeness of the community built through daily face-to-face interaction and the depth of program presented in the weekly assemblies.
