Community Meeting
Every day, the students, faculty and staff come together for Community Meeting, which is an integral part of the culture at University High School. Community Meeting engages students’ minds by showing them the world through a kaleidoscope of viewpoints. We recognize achievements, share creative endeavors, announce the news of the day, conduct team-building exercises, plan future events, perform for one another, listen to one another and grow as a community.

We also invite guests to speak. At Community Meeting, students interacted with a gospel singer, the recipient of the national 2003 Spirit of Women Award, a three-time Emmy winner, the 2004 Conductor of the Year and a forensic scientist. In 2004, we hosted U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar.

“The thing that really makes this school shine is the number of great speakers who come. We are really inspired when such important and well-known people come here to talk with us.”
