One of the most exciting opportunities offered by University High School is the January Term. For three weeks in January between first and second semester, you take a single class. This allows you to focus in detail on a single subject that interests you. J-Term (as we call it) allows us to offer classes that other schools cannot offer in a traditional setting. It gives you the opportunity to leave campus for a day, a week or the entire three-week period. The offerings change every year and reflect both student interest and faculty expertise. Each year there is a course that offers an extended travel opportunity, such as immersion into the language of a foreign country or traveling to Israel to study the culture. Every four years, you can travel to the presidential inauguration.
