Through mentoring, you will discover that teachers are interested in you as well as your education. The mentoring program will pair you with a faculty member or administrator. Your mentor will meet with you for a scheduled 30-to-45-minute meeting once every other week. Informal and impromptu meetings happen often.
This one-on-one, personalized attention helps you successfully navigate high school. The mentor monitors your welfare and academic progress and is available to guide you through the challenges of University High School; to head off problems; to motivate you to reach your full potential; to work through difficult situations; to celebrate successes; and to serve as the primary channel of communication between your parents and the school.
One of the best things about University High School is the mentoring program. Teachers here really care about the students’ day-to-day lives and are willing to invest their time and effort into what we students do with our futures.
