University High School proudly participated in the Annual Minority Achievers Awards & Scholars Gala last month, hosted by the Center for Leadership Development (CLD). This inspiring evening brought together educators, business and community leaders, and families to honor the academic achievements and leadership potential of young scholars.
Representing University were Directors of Admission Ashley Crockett Lohr and Taylor Newell, Associate Head of School Dave Vesper, and Board of Trustees member and alum Anthony Murdock ’14. Together, they presented Leadership Scholarships to a remarkable group of rising freshmen who exemplify CLD’s mission and values.
Congratulations to our 2025 CLD Scholars:
•Ryan Coe, Avon Middle School South
•Mariah Johnson, The Oaks Academy
•Yara Morris, The Oaks Academy
•Quinn Wilmot, Avon Middle School South
•Alijah Threatt, Fall Creek Valley Middle School
While Alijah was unable to attend the Gala in person, he is a proud recipient of a Leadership Scholarship and will join this year’s cohort of Trailblazers.
Each student received a $5,000 renewable scholarship, totaling $25,000 in support from University High School through our ongoing partnership with CLD.
We are thrilled to welcome these future Trailblazers into our community and can’t wait to see all they will accomplish!
