abby bladen, CLASS OF 2022
Abby Bladen graduated from University High School in 2022 after three years playing on the UHS varsity girls golf team. Following graduation, she spent several weeks traveling to countries in South America doing volunteer work. Upon her return to the U.S., Abby assisted with the Game of Golf January Term where she presented lectures on the history of professional golf, provided golf instruction and demonstrations to students, and helped newer golfers on various field trips to golf courses and during their trip to Florida. In the fall, Abby plans on attending Ithaca College where she will play on the golf team.
What have you been up to since leaving UHS?
I have been taking a gap year. I traveled to South America for a month and a half and went to Peru, Ecuador, and the Galapagos.
Why did you choose to return to assist with a J-Term class?
I chose to return to assist with the Game of Golf J-Term class because I had talked with [Director of Admission] Taylor Newell about the J-Term in past years and he asked me to come and assist with it.
What is your best University J-Term memory from when you were a student?
My best J-Term memory is when I went to Yellowstone with the National Parks J-Term class last year.
What has been your favorite part of helping with J-Term?
My favorite part has been seeing students improving their golf game tremendously throughout the class. I’m looking forward to the trip [to Florida] and seeing the students play on the golf courses there.
