Final exams for the fall semester begin on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and run through Thursday, Dec. 20. The full final exam schedule is below. Final exams will be taken according to class period in the room where the class normally meets unless the teacher has said otherwise.

Seniors may opt out of two final exams per year, provided that the senior has a grade of an A going into the final exam and the instructor approves the “opt out” option. Some classes do not permit this option, but that is usually stipulated at the beginning of the course. Also note that a senior may not opt out of the final exam in both the fall and the spring for the same class/discipline.

If students have three exams on Tuesday, they may work with the teacher and their mentor to reschedule one of their exams to Wednesday’s flex period, or another period.

University High School will be open on final exam days from 7:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. as per usual. However, students are only required to be at school when they are testing. If a student does not have an exam until 1 p.m., for example, he or she does not have to be at school until that time. Conversely, if a student is finished with exams at 12 p.m., he or she may leave school at that time. Students may not leave campus between exams.

Students who qualify for extended time must coordinate those exams with Mrs. Walerstein. In general, the extended time schedule will be:

Tuesday 8-11 a.m. and 12-3 p.m.
Wednesday 8-11 a.m. and 12-3 p.m.
Thursday 7:30-10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
