schedule of fall 2019 examsFinal exams for the fall semester begin on Tuesday, Dec. 17 and run through Thursday, Dec. 19. See graphic for full schedule. Final exams will be taken according to class period in the room where the class normally meets unless the teacher has said otherwise.

Rescheduling Exams

If students have three exams on Tuesday, they may work with the teacher and their mentor to reschedule one of their exams to Wednesday’s flex period. These are the only exams that should be moved to the flex period. In general, exams should be taken during the corresponding class period.

Extended Time Scheduling

Students who qualify for extended time must coordinate those exams with Mrs. Walerstein. In general, extended time exams should be taken on the same day the rest of the class takes the exam.

Senior Opt Out

Seniors may opt out of two final exams per year, provided that the senior has a grade of an A going into the final exam and the instructor approves the “opt out” option. Some classes do not permit this option, but that is usually stipulated at the beginning of the course. Also note that a senior may not opt out of the final exam in both the fall and the spring for the same class/discipline.

School Hours During Finals

University High School will be open on final exam days from 7:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. as per usual. However, students are only required to be at school when they are testing though they may not leave campus between exams. If a student does not have an exam until 12:45 p.m., for example, the student does not have to be at school until that time. Conversely, if a student is finished with exams at 12 p.m., the student may leave school at that time.
