Attire for graduates
Commencement is a dressy occasion. Graduates are required to be dressed up and ready for this formal school event. Suits are appropriate, as are blazers, button-up shirts, and slacks. Jackets are recommended for anyone wearing dress pants and button-up shirts. Dresses, skirts, or dressy rompers or jumpsuits are also appropriate. Dress shoes are required as well. The commencement ceremony takes place on the raised stage at the Palladium, so very short skirts are to be avoided.
Sneakers, flip flops, denim, shirts without collars, and in general, casual clothing is not permitted. Students who are not dressed appropriately for graduation will not be able to particulate in the ceremony. If there are questions regarding attire, please talk with Ashley Crockett-Lohr or Jennifer Thompson.
Other Details
Graduates will be given either a long-stemmed white rose with a navy ribbon to carry or a white rose boutonniere with navy ribbon to pin on the right side of their jacket/dress.
Graduates will receive their diplomas from their mentors, so graduates will be seated alphabetically by mentor’s last name.
Though the ceremony will start at 1 p.m., all graduating seniors should arrive at the Palladium no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon).
The Palladium is ADA compliant. There are accessible parking spaces, accessible restrooms, elevators, and special seating arrangements available for guests who need them. Visit the Palladium website for details on accessibility and contact the Palladium directly to make any special accommodations.
