Two members of the University High School Class of 2020 — Andy Tang and Karen Wang — were named semifinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program this week.
As part of a student-led effort to redesign Seminar Days, three students planned and executed a school-wide effort to return Tom FitzGibbon after a supposed alien abduction.
Twenty Trailblazers will take the stage next month as part of the school’s fall play, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged).” The show runs October 25-27, 2019 in Andrews Hall.
On Friday, Aug. 23, each class at University High School chose the members that would represent them this year on the school’s Stewardship Council.

University is an all-around school. They are strong in academics while also focusing on community and the students’ individual needs. They take extra time with students to make sure they have future goals and a game plan to reach them. You won’t find this kind of experience and commitment at other schools.
I keep waiting for the proverbial bubble to burst that University High School cannot really be this good, but it actually is.
It is heartwarming to watch my boys navigate their lives and make decisions about their futures, knowing that the confidence in their abilities and the courage to step out and embrace the world as life-long learners comes in large part from being members of the University community.
