The UHS math department and LSS have created a math lab to support students and deepen their understanding and proficiency in algebra and geometry concepts. The math lab is designed to provide students with an alternative means of learning concepts using multi-sensory, interactive, hands-on activities. Students will benefit from individualized support and collaborative learning experiences. Extra credit will be earned in their current math class for participating and consistently attending the math lab; students will be recognized for effort over performance.
The math lab will be guided by Instructional Assistant Nina Finnen. Students will be placed in the math lab by teacher referral only; parental consent is required. Math lab for Algebra 1 students meets during flex on Tuesdays. It will meet for Geometry students on Wednesdays during flex and Algebra 2 students will meet Thursdays during flex.
