Congratulations to our UHS students who earned awards at the 2022 Carmel International Arts Festival!

“The [festival] showcases student art from both Carmel High School and [University]. Hoosier Salon and Gallery is so kind to host the gallery show and they love having our students be apart of the festival,” said Tasha Barger, University Art Instructor. “We have participated in this show for the last 16 years!”

-Carmel Arts counsel (chosen by the Carmel arts members): Alex Altenburg (’24); oil painting “Rat Race”, $500 scholarship

-Innovation In Art: Foster Wilson (’23); Monoprint $1500 scholarship

-Best of Show: Noah Moshe (’25); digital photograph $1500 scholarship

-The Rosemary Waters Excellence In The Arts: Alex Altenburg (’24); mixed media, $2500 scholarship

According to the Carmel International Arts Festival website, the festival’s “mission is Educating the Community Through the Arts. This mission is carried out through a 2-day festival the last weekend of September in the Arts and Design District of Carmel, Indiana. The [submitted] artwork is judged at the festival and awards are issued to the artists. Additionally, the festival supports their mission through the awarding of several financial scholarships to local high school students. These scholarships are awarded based on artwork submitted to the student art show that is also presented during the festival.
