Designed by Chicago youth and curated and hosted by the MCA’s Teen Creative Agency (TCA), 21Minus is the MCA’s annual exposition of teen creativity and passion. The event features an afternoon of workshops, performances, art installations, and interventions—all designed to showcase the talents of the next generation of artists and cultural producers. The theme for 2016 installations is “vibrations.”
Inskeep describes her concept for the piece as follows: “The theme for proposals this year is vibrations. I submitted an idea and sketch for a project exploring different weights of emotions and showing them as vibrations. It will be good for anyone who is willing to share an emotion, positive or negative, and a time they felt it. When they think of it, they still feel that heaviness or lightness.”
Inskeep’s installation will be on display for the 21Minus event from 1-6 p.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Admission is free for people 21 and younger.
