Clare Little (’18) has been singing since 2nd grade and started taking lessons in 8th grade. Tuesday night will mark her final spring concert with the UHS choir.

About making music, Clare states, “I love how freeing it is. I love how you can evoke emotional responses in people and yourself by performing.”

Some of Clare’s accomplishments includes earning a gold rating at the ISSMA Solo and Ensemble contest, performing in a national convention for Presbyterian churches, and being a member of Blue Lake Fine Arts camp’s chamber choir.

Clare’s advice for someone thinking about getting into music is, “Do it and don’t be afraid. Even if you think you aren’t any good or you can’t do it, try it out because you might surprise yourself.”

In the fall, Clare plans to attend Purdue University to study engineering, and she hopes to continue her choral career there.

Clare is excited about the Advanced Musicianship portion of next week’s concert. The entire music department invites you to join them at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 27, 2018 in Andrews Hall.
