On May 9, the University High School music department hosted its annual Music Awards Concert, a celebration of musical talent and dedication across band, choir, and orchestra. The evening included performances from student ensembles and concluded with the presentation of major music honors.

Six students received the Outstanding Musicianship Award, presented to those who demonstrate exceptional musical maturity and leadership within the program:

  • Benjamin Alcantara, violin

  • Duygu Arseven, alto

  • Brianna Dimond, violin

  • Bea Lacerda, flute

  • Elizabeth Merisotis, clarinet

  • Elgin Phillips, tenor

Other distinguished award winners included:

  • Evelyn Glennie Percussion Award: Thang Vu

  • John Philip Sousa Band Award: Conor Bergeson-Dana

  • National School Choral Award: Kayla Rosetti

  • National School Orchestra Award: Stacy Xu

In addition to these honors, all seniors participating in musical ensembles were recognized for their dedication and leadership throughout their time in the program.
