Queen-Scholar-2018On Saturday, May 19, at the annual 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, University High School alumna Natalie Murdock (’16) was named the 2018 500 Festival Queen Scholar.

A true Trailblazer, Natalie is just the third black woman to be named Queen Scholar in the history of the program.

Murdock was named one of 33 500 Festival Princesses earlier this year, and she has been an ambassador for the 500 Festival at events throughout Central Indiana this spring. In early May, she visited University High School and spoke with students at her alma mater, urging them to live lives of hard work, dedication, and good character.

Murdock is currently a junior at Purdue University majoring in Public Health with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Sciences and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
