This year, five University High School seniors completed the rigorous Research Scholars Program, an independent research experience designed to challenge students to explore topics of deep personal interest. Over the course of nearly a year, these students developed their research ideas, conducted extensive investigation, wrote formal academic papers, and presented their findings to the community.
The program not only deepened their academic passions but also helped them develop important skills in time management, research, and college-level writing.

Eleanor Dillman explored The Neuroscience of Grief and the Impact of Loss on the Brain.
“This was an amazing opportunity because it allowed me to dive deeper into a topic that I am personally connected to and really passionate about. It also taught me to manage time and prepare for college!”

Anisha Patel researched DNA Analysis and Gene Editing Technologies in the Legal System.
“My biggest takeaway was being able to create a research paper on something I’ve been passionate about outside of my core classes. This experience gave me valuable independent work skills and preparation for college.”

Brianna Dimond examined The Benefits of Green Roofs and Their Potential Implementation at University High School.

Stacy Xu studied Why Women Have Been Excluded from Clinical Trials and the Repercussions of That History.
