The University High School RoboBlazers are Houston-bound! This weekend at the Indiana State Robotics Championship, our team earned a coveted spot at the 2025 FIRST Robotics World Championship—and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
The road to Worlds was paved with resilience and high-level performance. The RoboBlazers finished 9th out of 39 teams at State and were the first pick of Alliance 5. Though they were eliminated in the third round of playoffs, their consistent excellence throughout the season earned them a Worlds spot through total points accumulated across all tournaments—a first in team history.
But it wasn’t just about rankings. Other teams took notice of our students’ ingenuity, grit, and teamwork. Despite having fewer students and resources than many competitors, the RoboBlazers stood out. One team even called us “a top 5 robot built in a one-car garage”—a nod to our creative problem-solving and relentless work ethic.
Even more impressive? The team made it through State with almost no mechanical or electrical breakdowns, a rare feat late in the season. That reliability is a testament to their careful design, preparation, and maintenance.
