
Iyer was recognized for accumulating 100 hours of volunteer work at a local senior facility, and he was presented the award by the facility’s activity director, Kimberly Taylor.
In his volunteer work at the facility, Iyer assisted the residents in their daily routines and did things such as reading the local newspaper, playing board games, preparing decorating materials for the Fourth of July events, pushing wheelchairs for outdoor activities, and more. He also shadowed at the rehabilitation and physical therapy units.
