Seven University High School seniors have been named Semifinalists in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. These students represent less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and now have the opportunity to advance in the competition for nearly $26 million in National Merit Scholarships.
Congratulations to Triston English, Emily Ganter, Beatriz Machado Lacerda, Samuel Weaver, Henry Wang, Phifer Whorley, and Stacy Xu for their outstanding academic achievements.
To advance to the Finalist level, each Semifinalist will submit a detailed scholarship application, demonstrating their academic performance, leadership, community involvement, and accomplishments. Finalists will be announced in February 2025, and scholarship recipients will be selected from that group.
