This year’s school-wide theme, Living the Questions, captures the heart of University and inspires this year’s U Fund campaign. This theme reminds us that education is not always about having the right answers. Instead, it’s about pursuing the right questions with persistence and curiosity.
In fact, University itself began with a question: What if a school took students seriously, empowered them to shape their own education, and built a community rooted in shared values? The U Fund is a living expression of those same questions, sustaining a school where students’ voices are honored, where they are allowed to shape their learning, and where our community remains grounded in shared values. This fall, we invite our community to consider another important question at the heart of this year’s U Fund: What does it mean to be generous?
What is the U Fund?
With a goal of $300,000, the U Fund is the single most important source of yearly fundraising income at University. It bridges the gap between tuition and the actual cost of a University education.
Gifts to the U Fund are put to work for our students in the same year they are raised, supporting technology, lab supplies, arts, athletics, and building maintenance. Because these funds are spent annually, they must be replenished each year. In addition, the U Fund sustains signature programs like one-to-one mentoring, January Term, no-cut sports, and four-year college counseling.
Who gives to the U Fund?
The U Fund is supported by our entire University family: parents, alumni, faculty, trustees, parents of alumni, and friends of the school. Our faculty and staff have already achieved 100% participation, underscoring their commitment to the mission of University, and for the past fifteen years, current family participation has been 85% or higher.
Wondering when you should give to the U Fund?
We officially kick off the 2025–26 U Fund this Monday, September 29, and the campaign runs through June 30.
