University High School juniors Anjali Papadopoulos and Jacob Benson performed with Indiana’s New World Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York City last month. Papadopoulos is a flutist, and Benson is a cellist.
The New World Symphony Orchestra is part of the New World Youth Orchestras, whose mission is to develop the musical talent and nurture the personal growth of young people in Indianapolis and Central Indiana through the rehearsal and performance of orchestral masterworks, both traditional and contemporary.
The New World Youth Orchestras — including the Symphony Orchestra that Anjali and Jacob play in — has their finale concert of the season on Sunday, May 8 at 5 p.m. at Hilbert Circle Theatre. Tickets are available online.
