This week, Ms. Muniz-Peredo welcomed UHS students into the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica.

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish level 4 or above. It is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). UHS founded its chapter in 2019, and it is called “Los Pioneros,” which appropriately means “The trailblazers.”

The ceremony was well attended by family and loved ones. It was led by student members of the board who were previously inducted last year: Davi Dutra (’24), Bea Machado Lacerda (’25), Phifer Whorley (’25), and Owen Schellhase (’24).
