In their inaugural year, five University High School students in the DECA Club have advanced to the state competition. DECA’s State Career Development Conference will be Sunday, March 3 to Tuesday, March 5 at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.

Three students advanced to state competition in individual events. Sophomore Abby Copeland will compete in the Entrepreneurship event. Sophomore Sarah Naidu will compete in Principles of Business Management and Administration. And senior Nate Shatkowski will compete in Business Finance.

Additionally, the two-person team of juniors Rhett Offenbacker and Zach Loudermilk qualified to compete in the Entrepreneurship team event.

Indiana DECA enables aspiring entrepreneurs and emerging leaders to be ready for the challenges of their future endeavors through community service, real world experience, and career-oriented competition.
